Diet for Acid Reflux – Foods that Aggravate Reflux Acid
There are always some foods which seem to encourage acid reflux in a lot of people. Generally the categories of foods which can cause acid reflux are spicy, high fat and dairy foods. Even herbal supplements have been known to bring on acid reflux symptoms particularly if they are taken just before bed.
In no particular order, here are some common foods which tend to aggravate acid reflux:
- Fatty Fried Foods
- Fizzy or Soft Drinks
If you find that any of these particular foods are causing acid reflux effects, try eating them in the morning instead of close to bed time. When we eat foods whilst we are awake and active, our body is much better at containing stomach acids used to digest foods which we have eaten.
Diet for Acid Reflux – Foods you should be eating
Size Matters! Eat smaller and more frequent meals instead of larger portioned meals 3 times a day. What is the logic behind this? Food which you eat in smaller portions allow the stomach to easier digest and any excess acid. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water, eating fresh fruit and vegetables – essentially a healthy calorie controlled diet.
